Named for our founders—the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady—these scholarships were awarded to exemplary graduate students to help offset their educational expenses.

FranU congratulates the class of 2019! We want to highlight a few of our recent graduates who excelled during their time here at FranU.
Approximately 170 FranU students were conferred masters, bachelors or associate degrees during the university’s commencement exercises on Saturday, May 18, 2019.
The commencement keynote speaker, Julio Melara, is the President and CEO of Louisiana Business Inc., a multi-media publishing company which most notably publishes the Baton Rouge Business Report and 225 Magazine. Melara is the author of five books and currently serves on several boards in Baton Rouge, including Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
Viktoriia Leigh, a Biology student originally from the Ukraine, was recognized at commencement with the Student Excellence and Commitment to Service Award. This award distinguishes a graduating student who exemplifies the mission of the university and who has shown a strong commitment to scholarship, leadership, and service.

The FranU School of Nursing was awarded Nursing School of the Year — Undergraduate Degree Programs at the 2019 Nightingale Awards Gala, which is sponsored by the Louisiana Nurses Foundation and the Louisiana State Nurses Association.
We are very happy and excited to announce that the FNP program's inaugural graduating class of December 2018 has a 100% pass rate on their certification examination!!! The national pass rate is around 80%. This success is directly related to the hard work of the students and faculty. #FranU
